Lillian Smith is uniquely qualified to serve on the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees because...

she has held every board officer position—including President, has served on the Board since 1992, and is the only Certified Master Trustee on the Board!

 

Lillian Smith is proud that she has...

developed long-range plans for Pearland ISD including buying land for future schools and building 16 new schools for her community during the most rapid period of Pearland’s growth in its history.

 

been a part of a leadership team that has maintained high academic standards—recognized across the state of Texas, including by the Texas Education Agency—in spite of rapid growth, funding cuts, and drastic changes in the state and federal accountability systems.

 

lived in Pearland since 1968 and is an Oiler alumna from 1971!

 

Lillian Smith is a strong community leader because...

she has served on the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees while emphasizing a spirit of working together as a team to meet the challenges faced by the district using a common sense approach.

 

she has served her community as a paramedic for 25 years, including 3 years as a Communications Director for the Pearland EMS.

 

serves as a leader in her congregation at Shadycrest Baptist Church, including in roles such as a member of the church’s finance committee and as the chairwoman of the Scholarship committee.
